BIOS GILLES AUBRY (CH) computer, electronics Born 1973, Gilles Aubry is a swiss musician & sound artist based in Berlin since 2002. His various activities range from sound installations to rock concerts over radio performances, and a lot of improvised music. His most recent works include « FLOW » (2002-03), an information art project together with media artist Ulrike Gabriel, « TRAFIC » (2003), a site specific sound installation, « Ortmusik » (2003) and « SECRET MUSIC » (2004), a serie of musical interventions in public locations in Berlin ,« La Matière et l’Echo » (2004), a concert/installation for 12 loudspeakers, « Six Cows» (2005), a sound installation with artist Soichiro Mitsuya and « Camp Victory » (2005), a noise opera with text author Stéphane Montavon. As a computer musician, Gilles Aubry has been touring and recording widely troughout Europe and Russia during the last decade. Over the years, he has developed a unique style of realtime improvisation with computer. Among his current working bands one can mention « MONNO », a powerfull experimental-rock combo produced by belgian indie-label Conspiracy, «The Same Girl », with british drummer Nicolas Field (the duo toured Russia and the balkan states in spring 2004), « Swift Machine » a berlin based electro-acoustic trio (CD on Creative Sources in 2005) and finaly, Gilles Aubry’s computer solo project « ANTI TAUPE ». Beside that, Gilles Aubry was involved in numerous collaborations with musicians such as Axel Doerner (DE), Dave Philips (UK), Christian Wolz (D), John Hegre (NO), Klaus Filip (AT), Jaime Fenely (USA), Le Qua Ninh (FR), Seiji Murayama (JP), Vladislaw Makarov (RU), Mickael Renkel (D), Bertrand Denzler (CH), Dirk Bruinsma (NL), Tao Samalec (SLO), Tom Tlalim (ISR) and Eric Cordier (FR). He is leading the label & organisation Sound Implant. |

| NICOLAS FIELD (UK) Drums, percussion Nicolas Field is a drummer, improviser that also works with electronics from London, UK. Based in Amsterdam, where he did part of his studies, he has taken part in a wide variety of projects from contemporary music to jazz and improvised to electronic music for dance performances. Current projects include: Phô (a trio with Morten Olsen as a second drummer and Bjornar Habbestad on over-amplified flute and electronics). Phô has been collaborating with singer/performer Didi Bruckmayr (Fuckhead & Wipeout) for concerts in France, Austria, Holland and Norway over the last year and a half. As a trio they recorded an album in January that is currently being mixed and further plans are to record with Didi Bruckmayr also. Since he has been in Amsterdam Nicolas has done solo performances with drums, movement sensors and live electronics, solo shows with end of LP’s and electronics, was a founding member of Kresna an ensemble for contemporary music with live-electronics, Performed a version of Pierre Boulez’s Dialogue de l’ombre double for bass clarinet with Carlos Galvez, worked with dance on pieces by: Sami Klemola , David Lakein, Fant de Kanter and Merlijn Twalfhoven, was a member of bassist Andrew Bergman’s modern jazz trio Meaty Snack, Collaborated with Office-R on the TI project as part of their residency in Steim, doing Markov chain text processing and sound processing. In October 2003 he did a month’s long tour through Europe with Jaime Fennelly (electronics), that brought them from Portugal to Poland. A cd has been recorded at the end of the tour and should be out first half of 2004.
